The University Math Center is part of the Undergraduate Scholar Assistant Center sponsored by TITLE III. The Math Center is located on the second floor of the J. D. Boyd Library. It is equipped with 70 computers with software in mathematics education. Tutors and faculty provide detailed, one-on-one assistance in the areas of:

  • Intermediate Algebra,
  • College Algebra,
  • Pre-Calculus, Calculus-I,
  • and Calculus-II

The Math Center was established in 2006. It has become a critical factor for students to develop their competency in mathematics and succeed in the core math courses. Over 12,000 student visits were recorded in 2012. Statistics data show that students who attend math center as required have a significantly larger chance to pass the core math courses successfully.

Tips for Students

  1. Don’t wait! Visit the ASU Math Center as soon as you need help! There are no need to schedule an appointment – you will get help at any time when the Math Center is open.
  2. Prepare yourself by attending classes, reviewing notes, reading “Instruct” Section in Hawkes Software, and learn by practicing using the software.
  3. Bring notes, calculators, and any other materials needed to Math Center.
  4. Bring your Hawkes Access Code and ASU Student ID when you come to the Math Center. The software is already loaded on the computers for you to use.
  5. Purchase the Access Code (equivalent to your textbook) at the beginning of the semester. The chance to success in these courses is increased significantly if you get the success code, visit the math center, and complete the homework right from the beginning of the semester.

Monday: Thursday: 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday: Closed
